โ๏ธ Writing Sprint
Beat the blank page: write without editing.
Updated 2026-07-14
A writing sprint is a fixed burst of writing with one rule: keep going, no editing. Perfectionism and the blank page stall most writing; sprinting past them, especially alongside other people doing the same, gets words down that you can fix later. Pick what you're drafting, turn off spellcheck, and write nonstop until the timer ends.
The list
- The scene, section, or email you'll draft this sprint
- Your word-count goal (or just 'keep writing')
- Turn off spellcheck and the urge to edit. No backspacing
- Write nonstop for the full 25 minutes
- If you stall, write '[fix later]' and keep going
- Note your word count, then pick the next chunk for round two
Loads straight into a free focus timer + task list. Edit anything to make it yours.
